Fabric Banner 02 Fabric banner; "The Holy Child banner displayed here has significance for many SHCJ from 1931 until the 1960's, on the 25th of each month, it was carried by the eldest novice as the postulants and novices processed around the chapel at Sharon and then at New Sharon, praying in the traditional manner for vocations to the society. |
Figure of the Holy Child in a Manger Figure of the Holy Child in a manger (wooden). There is a note on the bottom (see 22a) from Mother Mary Laurentia Dalton who sent the figure to the Novices. She had been Novice Mistress for a number of years, probably in the early 1950's. Then she became Superior General. The figure was probably sent from Rome at Christmas time although the sisters celebrated the 25th of every month at that time. The note says:With (?) most loving greetings to my dear Novices! Please do remember me _______ prayer on the 25th! Devotedly in J.C., M.M.Laurentia, SHCJ |
